Compare what the quote includes
A transport amount is useful only when it describes your actual bike move. This guide helps you compare the scope and total before booking. Broad market budget ranges are shown on our Delhi homepage; they are planning estimates, not a fixed tariff or a confirmed offer for every model.
Delhi planning budget bands in one place
These are the same rounded planning ranges displayed on the Delhi homepage. Use them to frame your enquiry, then ask for a written amount for your bike, addresses and date. They do not show completed customer bookings or a provider's current tariff. They are not a confirmed tariff or an offer for every motorcycle and address.
| Bike category | Up to 500 km | 500–1,000 km | 1,000–2,000 km |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commuter, 100–150cc | ₹2,000–5,000 | ₹3,000–7,000 | ₹4,000–11,000 |
| Mid-size, 151–350cc | ₹2,500–6,000 | ₹4,000–9,000 | ₹5,000–13,000 |
| Premium or heavy motorcycle | ₹4,500–9,000 | ₹6,000–12,000 | ₹8,000–20,000 |
Actual costs can fall outside these bands. Scooters, EVs, non-running bikes and routes beyond 2,000 km need a model-specific quote. Packing, pickup, delivery, tax, insurance and special handling must be identified as included or additional in the written total.
Why multiplying a per-km figure can mislead
A bike move includes more than the distance travelled. Collection, packing, loading, unloading, paperwork and final delivery all form part of the job. Compare the total for the same bike and addresses instead of treating a per-km calculation as a quotation.
A simple comparison, using illustrative figures
Suppose Quote A says ₹7,000 but leaves packing as “extra” and delivery as “city delivery”. Quote B says ₹8,500 with packing, your actual apartment address and taxes clearly identified. These figures are examples, not our rates or completed customer quotations.
The ₹1,500 headline difference is not enough to choose between them. Have Quote A identify the packing amount, final handover point and tax treatment, then compare the complete totals and scope. Keep separately arranged insurance on its own line and read the issued policy.
The details that shape your quote
- Bike model and condition: exact model, weight, dimensions, modifications and whether it starts and rolls normally.
- Both addresses: pickup and destination PINs, lane access, society rules and the final receiving point.
- Date and schedule: preferred pickup and any firm deadline that needs to be checked for feasibility.
- Handling scope: packing, removable accessories and any special vehicle requirements.
For an EV, non-running bike or long route, share the model and condition first. Do not apply a commuter-bike range automatically.
Ask for these items in writing
| Item | What to clarify |
|---|---|
| Collection | Exact Delhi pickup point and any access-dependent arrangement. |
| Packing and loading | What work and materials are included and how accessories are recorded. |
| Transport | Route, bike details and estimated shipment window covered by the quote. |
| Final delivery | Your agreed destination address, rather than an unspecified city hub. |
| Taxes and other charges | Applicable items and the total payable before agreeing the booking. |
| Insurance | Separate charge, declared value and the policy that will be issued. |
| Payment and changes | Payment stages, receipt details, quote validity and cancellation terms. |
How the 3% insurance charge works
ICICI Lombard transit cover can be arranged at the stated charge of 3% of the bike’s declared value. The base is the bike value, not the transport bill. For example, a declared value of ₹1,00,000 gives an insurance charge of ₹3,000. At ₹60,000, it is ₹1,800.
These examples calculate only the insurance charge. They are not full transport quotations or promises of claim payout. Ask for the policy schedule and check the insured journey, coverage, exclusions, deductible and claims conditions. Confirm any applicable tax treatment in the final written amount.
A useful quote comparison
Suppose one quote mentions “city delivery” and another lists your apartment address. Before choosing the smaller number, establish whether both include the same final drop. Do the same for packing, loading and collection. A missing item can make two headline amounts misleading.
Do not assume a quote remains valid after changing the bike, pickup date or destination. Discuss the change first and get the revised scope and amount confirmed. See our cancellation and rescheduling page for what to provide when plans change.
Ways to keep the move straightforward
- Share complete details at the start rather than changing the address after dispatch.
- Tell us if your pickup date is flexible; ask what options are available without assuming a discount.
- Remove personal belongings and identify accessories before the packing plan is agreed.
- Confirm building access and the receiver’s availability to avoid an unclear handover.
- Compare written totals and scope, not a starting price alone.
