Kolkata and Howrah need a precise receiving plan
For Salt Lake, share the block and sector as well as the building name. For New Town, include the action area, street and apartment or office entrance. If the destination is Howrah, Shibpur or Santragachi, say so at the quote stage; do not leave the address as central Kolkata.
In older neighbourhoods, the final approach may be a narrow lane. Tell us about restricted access, a one-way approach or a place where unloading is difficult. Agree the doorstep scope and any alternative handover point before dispatch. We do not assume a smaller delivery vehicle is available for every lane.
For a flat in Ballygunge, Jadavpur, Behala or along the EM Bypass, send the society name, PIN and contact person. A well-known landmark helps navigation but does not settle the final delivery address.
Check the entrance as well as the Kolkata address
Ask the receiving person to check that the map pin and written address lead to the intended entrance. For a para lane, apartment complex or a building with more than one approach, include the gate or landmark that helps identify the agreed handover point.

Keep the pickup receipt and consignment number. At the Kolkata end, nominate someone who can inspect the bike, rather than only provide access to the building. If you are arriving by train or flight, avoid assuming the shipment will arrive at the same time.
Considering parcel collection at Howrah or Sealdah?
Verify the actual destination station and current parcel requirements directly with Indian Railways. Include packing, station drop and collection travel when comparing costs. A rail freight figure and a door-to-door quote describe different scopes. Our service is not a railway booking service.

You receive a consignment tracking number. Keep it with your pickup receipt and quote, and mention it when contacting us for a shipment update. This is consignment tracking, not a claim of continuous live GPS.
ICICI Lombard transit insurance can be arranged at 3% of the declared bike value. Ask for the policy schedule and check the insured journey, risks covered, exclusions, deductible and claim notification requirements. The transport charge and insurance charge are separate. A claim is assessed under the issued policy; payment is not automatic.
At delivery, compare the bike with your pre-pickup photos before completing the receipt. Photograph any concern, record it on the handover document and contact us promptly. Keep the packing and documents until you have received instructions about any reported damage.
